How the price is calculated
Every offer follows the same formula, and we show you each part:
Weight of the gold content × purity (karat) × the day's market rate. Stones and non-gold parts are excluded from the weight, and you'll see the scale reading yourself.
Gold buying questions
How do you decide what my gold is worth?
Three things: purity (10k, 14k, 18k, 22k or 24k, tested in front of you), weight, and the gold market rate on the day. We explain the calculation and you decide whether to sell.
Do you buy broken or mismatched pieces?
Yes. Broken chains, single earrings, dental gold, scrap and coins are all priced by purity and weight, so condition doesn't matter.
What do I need to bring?
Valid government-issued photo ID. You must be 18 or older to sell gold.
Do you buy silver or platinum?
Yes to silver coins: bring them in with your gold for a free evaluation. We don’t buy platinum. For any other silver, call 905-436-0000 before you come in.
How do I get paid, and is there a maximum?
Cash at the counter or Interac e-Transfer, whichever you prefer, and there’s no maximum on what we’ll pay out. For larger amounts we may need a little more time and a second piece of ID.
