  • Have been employed full-time for at least six months
  • Are paid by direct deposit into a Canadian bank account

Ontario law limits a payday loan to 50% of your net pay for the pay period, so the amount we can approve depends on your income.

What to bring, and why we ask

Ontario requires every licensed lender to verify who you are and what you earn. Here's exactly what we look at.

  • Government-issued photo IDDriver's licence, passport, Ontario photo card or PR card. Required by law to confirm your identity.
  • Your most recent paystubConfirms your income and your next pay date, which sets your repayment date and the maximum you can borrow.
  • Proof of addressA recent utility, phone or hydro bill with your name on it.
  • Void cheque or pre-authorized debit (PAD) formFor the account your pay is deposited into, so repayment comes out automatically on payday.
  • A couple of months of bank statementsWe ask for these once you’re at the counter, along with a further paystub or two, to confirm your deposits match what you told us.
  1. Apply

Online in about five minutes, or at the counter with the documents above.

  2. Review and sign

We confirm your details during business hours, walk you through the agreement and its cost, and you sign in store or electronically.

  3. Receive your money

Cash at the counter, or Interac e-Transfer to your account.

Whichever way you apply, expect to show a couple of months of bank statements alongside your paystub once you’re at the counter. It’s how we confirm your deposits match what you told us. Please never email documents. Use the secure form on the application page or bring paper copies in.

Licensed and regulated

Ontario Payday Lender Licence #4741042, with the borrower protections the Payday Loans Act gives you.

Repaying, and what if you can't

Your loan is repaid in one payment on your next pay date, usually by pre-authorized debit from the account your pay goes into. You can repay early at any time at no extra cost.

If something changes, call us before the due date. Ontario law limits what any lender can charge after a missed payment, prohibits rolling one payday loan into another, and gives you the right to an extended payment plan if you take a third loan within 63 days.

Read your rights as a borrower

Is a payday loan right for you? It's designed for a one-time gap until payday, not for ongoing expenses or existing debt. Lower-cost options may include a credit union or bank overdraft, an employer advance, or free non-profit credit counselling.

Payday loan questions

How much can I borrow with a payday loan?

Between $100 and $1,500. Ontario law limits a payday loan to 50% of your net pay for the pay period, so the exact amount depends on your income. The loan is repaid on your next pay date.

What does a payday loan cost?

$14 for every $100 you borrow. That's the maximum Ontario allows and the only charge on a loan repaid on time. Borrow $300 and you repay $342; borrow $500 and you repay $570 (APR 365%). There is no application fee. See rates & fees.

How fast can I get the money?

In store, most decisions are made during your visit and you leave with cash. Online applications are reviewed during business hours; once your agreement is signed we pay out by Interac e-Transfer or you can collect cash in store.

Will you check my credit?

Our decision is based mainly on your income, your pay schedule and your banking history, so a low credit score is not automatically a barrier. We verify your identity and income for every loan, as Ontario law requires.

What happens if I can't repay on my pay date?

Call us before the due date. We'd rather talk it through than see a payment bounce. Ontario law caps what a lender can charge after a missed payment, and if you've taken three payday loans within 63 days you have the right to an extended payment plan. Details are on our borrower rights page.

Can I take a second loan to pay off the first?

No. Ontario prohibits rollover loans, and we won't offer a new loan until the current one is repaid in full. If a payday loan is becoming a regular fix, our borrower-rights page lists free, non-profit credit-counselling options.

Can I cancel after I've signed?

Yes. You may cancel within two business days of receiving the money by returning the amount advanced, at no cost. You can also repay early at any time, and the cost of borrowing does not increase for paying sooner.
